Project Manager

SUMMARY: Virtual's Project Management Office partners with key business areas to develop, manage and execute organizations strategic projects.  As a Project Manager (PM), you will be responsible for the full life-cycle of a project, oversee the conception, implementation and analysis of internal and client facing projects.    The PM will also support the project management office to ensure all processes and procedures are met to full expectancy. The successful candidate will have a background in both business and technology and will have an extensive understanding of software development and ability to contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.  This role requires resourcefulness, creativity, and negotiation skills to ensure that the client and internal stakeholders maintain focus, priority and momentum. A DAY IN THE LIFE WILL INCLUDE: Lead assigned projects to completion Develop individual project plans complete with dependencies Communicate with our Technology teams about resource allocation Work with key stakeholders during each phase of the project life-cycle Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues Control project changes by collecting relevant information, evaluating the performance compared to the plan; share the results Clearly communicate the overall scope, timing, budget, resource analysis, deliverables to all team members and provides clear, frequent and effective communication to key stakeholders in a matrix environment Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed Provide timely and accurate reporting to all stakeholders Facilitate and lead Project Portfolio Review Meeting to review project status, performance highlights, details, problems, risks, changes and next steps Plan transition and full operationalization of the project Conduct a post-project evaluation Ensure effective project management governance and oversight is met Work with PMO on other initiatives such as knowledge management, and business process improvement. Work with PMO on other deliverables such as training and support, improve project visibility, and ensure governance is met.   DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? Bachelor's degree in computer- or business-related discipline or equivalent experiencerequired Minimum 5 years' experience as a project or program manager in a technical environment Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus Agile experience a plus Demonstrated ability to complete projects on time and within the stated budget Financial acumen to supportreporting on budget vs actual, contribution margins, etc. Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology teams Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented, with strong, effective organizational, and time-management skills Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, learn and quickly adapt to changing environment Ability to clearly document processes for a non-project manager to be successful acting as a project lead Ability to present to stakeholders and Senior Leadership Must be flexible and have strong interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment Exposure to PMO best practices and experience utilizing PMBOK techniques/methods Prior experience with project management tools (Wrike, Smartsheet, MS Project, etc.), Microsoft Office including SharePoint

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
