Senior Payroll Coordinator (9026-200)

The Senior Payroll Coordinator is responsible for payroll processing for a national healthcare organization with operations in 21 states and over 4,200 employees as well as tax reconciliation process. The company has experienced significant growth through both acquisition activities and internal development and this role will play an active role in the successful cross training of payroll team responsibilities and the documentation of payroll processes.
Ensures timely and accurate payroll processing in conformance with employment practices and procedures
Performs routine review of payroll processing to both increase accuracy and decrease the likelihood of fraud
Share responsibility for all tax filing, account reconciliations and W2 printing with other Sr. Payroll Coordinators
Work closely with third party vendor on check processing and garnishments
Successfully answers employee and management questions regarding payroll processing.
Identifies and recommends department policies, procedures and process improvements to continually improve the quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of the payroll function
Adheres to established policies, procedures and internal controls
Responsible for maintenance of all payroll records and reports
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Work requires a level of knowledge equivalent to that obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business or associated field
4+ years directly related experience in payroll administration
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and has exposure to various payroll systems including report writer
Strong Communication skills
Payroll certification a plus (FPC or CPP)
Experience using Ultipro HRIS software a plus
Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws, rules, regulations and compliance
Works on issues of limited scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation in accordance with established policies
Interprets company policies within particular applied situations

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
