Located in Boston's north shore, JO is a large, local Public Accounting firm looking for top talent to join our amazing culture and client base. We are seeking an Experienced Staff Accountant with 1-3 years of public accounting experience who is interested in participating in his/her own career growth to join our team.


The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and analytical skills, as well as accounting, attest and tax preparation experience. As with the public accounting industry in general, our firm has increasing opportunities in broad-based consulting engagements, and the successful candidate will participate in this client-service area. We also perform numerous outsourced accounting services which provides the opportunity to gain wide exposure to various accounting issues and industries. Whereas large firms tend to be compartmentalized, our firm offers the successful candidate the ability to service all aspects of our clients' business and personal needs, and see client engagements from start to finish, thus becoming a valued advisor to clients.


The job-essential requirements are:



  • Bachelor of Accounting with CPA completed or in progress

  • 1-3 years of public accounting experience

  • Ability to prepare and complete corporate and individual tax returns and financial statements

  • Proficient knowledge of QuickBooks, ProFX Tax, CCH Engagement, and Excel

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;

  • Commitment to exceptional client service

  • Flexible, self-starter whose personal values coincide with JO's Core values (Respect, Integrity, Teamwork & Excellence)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
