The Benefits Coordinator will report directly to our Benefits Manager and will play a key role in the growth and expansion of our benefits team. The right candidate will have effective organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. They will have excellent communication skills in order to build and maintain strong relationships with affiliate teams nationwide, administer all employee benefit programs, assist team members and managers with benefits enrollments and qualifying benefits changes. They will also have a high level of accuracy in order to successfully process vendor invoices and ensure accurate administration of confidential employee data to meet audit and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain effective internal and external partnerships through exceptional customer service. Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned national affiliate teams processes and policies.
Administer all employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k) and leaves of absence.
Accurately administer team member information including new hires, terminations, compensation, status and other changes.
Conduct benefits orientations and describe the benefits online enrollment system. Ensure Team Members understand the benefit plans and how to access websites, materials and other information sources.
Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction. Document and maintain up-to-date procedures.
Assist team members with benefit claims as needed.
Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
Prepare and lead meetings to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
Ensure accuracy of biweekly employee reports. Assist in completing benefits regulatory reports.
Support the nationwide team through the employee benefits phone line and Email box.
Participate in planning and implementation of the Annual Open Enrollment process.
Assume other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
BA/BS degree or equivalent work/life experience and 2-4 years of Benefits/Human Resources experience.
Must have intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
Knowledge of COBRA, FMLA and ERISA.
Ability to exercise considerable judgment with highly confidential information.
Demonstrates a superior work ethic and can multi-task effectively while taking pride in everyday tasks.
Ability to form strong partnerships and develop collaborative relationships.
Solid understanding of benefits programs.
Solid understanding of benefits legal and regulatory environment.
Understands PTO accrual methods and calculations. Ability to calculate PTO, review and process donation requests.
A positive attitude and sense of humor is a must!



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
