Transportation Director (Wakefield, MA)

Job Description

EMARC, a nonprofit supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, is currently seeking a full-time Transportation Director to work out of our Day Program in Wakefield, MA. The Transportation Director provides leadership, guidance and direct supervision to all transportation staff. This position ensures safe transportation of individuals to destinations as assigned and management of the transportation fleet.

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Schedule may be adjusted to accommodate agency needs.


 Oversee and manage all transportation operations and communication with various stakeholders including agency staff, individuals, and families and outside vendors such as MART. This included driving routes, as needed.

  Develop, distribute & maintain transportation routes and schedules. This includes coordinating drivers to designated routes, managing daily attendance and absenteeism, and finding coverage for open routes. Manage the internal relief driver list.

   Hire, supervise, evaluate, and train Transportation Staff. Conduct annual performance evaluations of employees.

   Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual Transportation budget. Maintain appropriate financial records as required.

  Ensure the implementation of licensing and accreditation standards for Agency policies that are in compliance with CARF, MART, QUEST, EOEA and DMR regulations, as applicable.

  Oversee the maintenance of vehicles and complete all associated paperwork.



         At least 3 years driving experience. Has maintained a safe driving record for the past five years.

         A minimum of five years of management experience preferably in developmental disability services, including supervisory and fiscal management.

         Valid Driver license, acceptable driver record and reliable transportation.

         Acceptable CORI report required

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
