Overview: In-house counsel position with the Legal Department of a leading multinational high-tech company. The position involves working both independently and as part of a diverse, highly professional in-house legal team supporting commercial transactions, primarily in Brazil.

Experience: J.D and a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements for the sale, license and distribution of high-tech products, systems and solutions in a multinational and multicultural environment with Latin America customers, preferably with a major law firm and/or legal department in a software technology company. Experience must include negotiating contracts relating to hardware, software and integrated products; related technical support, professional services, managed services, hosting, cloud, agency, distributor, teaming, non-disclosure, and other similar agreements. Fluent language skills (both spoken and written) in English, and Portuguese are required. Familiarity with Brazil law in the area of commercial contracts and fluency in Spanish are a plus.
Bar : Must be licensed to practice law in at least one US state
Position Overview
In-house counsel for Legal Department of a leading multinational high-tech company . The position involves working both independently and as part of a diverse, professional in-house legal team supporting commercial transactions, primarily in Brazil.
The candidate will manage and provide legal services pertaining primarily to commercial sales related transactions primarily in Brazil, interact with senior management to provide guidance related to the negotiation of commercial agreements, as well as interact cross-functionally with several departments in the organization.
The candidate will act as liaison between the company and outside legal counsel and will therefore have extensive experience and knowledge in the high tech industry.
The candidate will have a professional authority that is recognized both internally and externally, and will work on significant and unique problems at a high level of complexity.
As an expert in the field, the attorney will use professional concepts in developing resolution to critical issues and will often serve as consultant to management and external spokesperson for the organization.
Qualifications & Skills
Graduate degree (J.D.) in Law from an accredited law school or equivalent and licensed to practice law in at least one US state.
Required:
Fluent language skills (both spoken and written) in English and Portuguese.

Highly developed ability to manage multiple projects and balance priorities under deadlines.
Working knowledge of potential revenue recognition issues in the commercial contracting process.
Periodic travel required.
Microsoft Office proficiency

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
